Static QR code
Text QR code generator
Display a text message directly, no internet connection or server needed.
The message travels inside the pattern itself. On scan, the text appears on screen: no page to open, no connection needed.
What you need for a Text QR code

What a Text QR code is for
-
Notices next to a machine
Two lines with the start-up sequence or a warning, readable in a basement or a warehouse where no signal reaches.
-
Internal references
Serial numbers, batch or shelf codes, read with the phone instead of typed and mistyped.
-
Data that never goes online
With no server in between, the text is never recorded anywhere outside the code itself.
-
Messages on objects
A dedication on a gift or a note beside an exhibited piece, with no page that must still exist years from now.
The text lives inside the code
No redirect, no intermediate page: the pattern contains the characters. It works with no internet, no account and nothing for anyone to maintain.
Since nothing passes through any server, scans cannot be counted and the message cannot be changed later. What you print says what it says, forever.
Text QR code questions
How much text fits?
Technically quite a lot, but after a few lines the code gets so dense you have to print it large for the camera to read it.
Can it be edited later?
No. Changing the message means generating a new code. If you need to change it later, use a dynamic type.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. The reader shows the text directly because there is no page to open.
These questions do not depend on the code type, and they are worth reading before sending anything to print: what size to print a QR code at , why a heavily customised code stops scanning and how static and dynamic codes differ .
